TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Superior Showers strives to create and install your frameless shower enclosure as tight as possible. However, due to circumstances beyond our control we cannot fabricate the glass to confirm to bellies, bows, or uneven tile. We cannot be held responsible for any structural integrity of the wall or any other mounting surface, as well as any cracked surface material due to the removal and/or installation of the glass enclosure.

The installation process requires hole drilling into tile, marble bases, and sometimes tubs to properly secure your unit. SFS is not responsible for any damages to any surface or material during installation or removal.

Enclosures will be centered on curb, unless otherwise specified on the contract. Enclosures will come with our standard hardware unless specified on contract.

Each shower enclosure is custom made to fit the specifications of each opening. By signing the invoice, no other alterations can be made, and the customer assumes 100% responsibility of payment in full. Thresholds are an additional cost and a service call fee will be charged if not installed at the initial time of installation.

Leaking:

A frameless shower enclosure is not a watertight application. There are small gaps necessary for your shower to function. Even with steam units, there is no way to guarantee that 100% of the steam/water will not leak. SFS is not responsible for any water/steam damage caused by leaks. Water/Steam leakage and damage can be caused by an incorrect pitch of the curb, base, or tub. A correctly constructed unit can help eliminate more of these issues. Even though we fabricate the enclosure to fit the given size of the unit, there may still be water leaks. We do our best to work with the pitch of your curb, but we cannot guarantee leakage will not occur. The customer must take into consideration the positioning and aim of the shower head, sprayer, or jet inside the unit and understand the frameless shower enclosures are made to deflect water, not retain it.

Gap Allowances:

Gap tolerances between glass-to-glass or glass-to-wall may vary between 1/16”-5/8”. Vinyl seals are available free of charge at the initial time of installation, otherwise, the purchaser is subject to a service fee charge. The vinyl seals are a wear and tear item and can discolor or deteriorate, in which case, it is at the customers expense to replace the vinyl.

Tempering Guidelines:

Glass warpage may occur, which will remain within the acceptable tempering association guidelines. Specifications are available upon request only.

Shower Unit Guidelines:

Frameless shower doors are meant to swing both in and out directions, however, due to incorrect pitch, mitered doors to mitered glass, doors may only be able to swing in one direction. SFS will not be held responsible if there any flaws or leaking caused by the notching out of decorative tiles and structures done by our installers.

When pitch of curb is not done correctly, you are more prone to water leakage. It is recommended you have all the tile work adjusted prior to our design appointment as we are not responsible for structural changes made after the final measurements.

SFS is not responsible for covering or filling in holes that were made from the old enclosure. We also assume no liability for unseen circumstances, such as drilling into a pipe that is hidden behind a wall. We strongly recommend the contractor or customer inform us of any issues behind the walls prior to installation of the unit. During the removal process, any tile of surface damage that may occur is to be correct at the customers expense.

Defects:

Defects such as scratches, chips, flaws, etc. The Federal Government mandates that no defects should be visible in the glass when it is viewed 11 feet away under normal lighting conditions to the naked eye. Defects must be brought to our attention in writing to our office or through email within 24 hours of installation.

Mirror and Flat Glass Allowances:

For mirrors being installed, please allow up to 3/16” gap all the way around the mirror. For all flat glass there is a +/- 1/8” tolerance based on measurements.

Property Protection:

Superior Showers does not take any responsibility for any damage to the customers personal property in the event damage occurs during our visit. The customer takes responsibility in providing protection for their floors. Due to the liability and danger, our installers may not wear booties.

Service Calls/Repairs/Maintenance:

Any cleaner can be used that is NON-ABRASIVE. If your hardware discolors or fails, SFS will provide a replacement at no charge. After one year of installation, the purchaser is subject to a minimum of $225 service call fee. If the purchaser is experiencing mold growing on their silicone, this is due to stagnant water sitting on the silicone, in which case, SFS is not responsible. According to Florida’s Construction Lien Law, states that those who work on your property or provide materials and services to your home and are not paid in full have the right to enforce their claim for payment against your property. This claim is known as a Construction Lien. If a Lien is filed against your property, then your property may be sold against your will to pay for labor and materials that you or your contractor may have failed to pay. Even if you have paid your contractor in full, if your contractor has failed to pay us, then a Lien may still be filed against your property and we may look to your property for payment. If a Lien is to be sent, the customer also takes the responsibility of the Lien cost and which so will be added to the owed balance.
